Applications for research grants shall be yearly submitted to the secretariat by October 1. The applications are then reviewed by the Board who releases its final decision in December.
Eligible applicants are PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, or researchers who have obtained their PhD no more than seven years ago. Periods of parental leave or comparable circumstances may be deducted from the time calculation.
Applicants may not apply for funding for their own salary. However, funding may be requested for purchased services or salary costs for another person. Grants may also be awarded for costs related to conducting studies and experiments.
Each applicant may submit only one application per call.
The application must be submitted using the designated form, which must be fully completed. The form must be signed by the applicant’s immediate supervisor, such as a Head of Department, Section Head, or Division Head.
The foundation requires that studies requiring ethical approval must not begin before approval has been granted by the appropriate ethics review authority.
The application must be submitted as one PDF file containing the completed application form, CV, publication list, budget, research plan, and, where applicable, a scientific report (if the applicant has previously received funding from the foundation).
Applications for research project grants must be received by the Secretariat no later than 1 October. Submitted applications will be reviewed and finalized by the Board during December.
The Foundation accepts only one application per person. Applicants must decide for themselves which project is best to submit.
The application form can be downloaded below. One signed copy will be sent together with all the required attachments in only one pdf-file to secretariat [at] agfond [dot] se. Possibly missing information can be required after the submission. The application, especially the budget section, shall be entirely completed, and approved by the relevant Head of Department. Moreover, the research project must be approved by the Ethics Review Board before submission.
The Office will check that everything is in order and sends an acknowledgement of receipt with a reference number. The file can be too big and may not be accepted by the mailbox. Please, do not hesitate to take contact in order to get a confirmation that the application is received.
IMPORTANT! Attachments and/or applications sent via surface mail will be disregarded. Uncomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
